Course Description
The course is comprised of three main components:
1) 5 Hours of Group Zoom Lessons where we discuss the principles of how to incorporate spoken Latin into your classroom and dive into a plethora of best practices.
2) 3 one-on-one follow up meetings with me to develop a personal plan to implement in your class, check in, and to practice your conversational Latin.
3) Access to an exclusive Discord server where those who have purchased the course can meet and discuss what is working for them in their classrooms.
Course Overview
This course is designed to help teachers of Latin incorporate spoken Latin effectively into their classroom in order to make teaching more more joyful and less stressful. Since the course is continuing to be planned up until the days we meet, some details are subject to change.
Who is this course for?
This course is for motivated teachers of Latin, new or veteran, who are worn down and disappointed by a lack of enthusiasm in the classroom, low enrollment, and a stressful teaching environment produced by monotonous and uninspired translations, prolix grammar explications, and recalcitrant students.
The course focuses on methods specific to incorporating spoken Latin into the classroom, but also touches upon general pedagogical techniques that help a language class stay focused but lively.
The course is not a magic wand. It will take a lot of work to implement correctly, but a motivated teacher who loves Latin and their students will find that by following the principles laid out, their jobs as teachers ultimately becomes easier as a result.
If you are ready to make the change in your classroom and you are driven to consistently improve your Latin, then this course is for you!
