Weekly, bite-sized, Latin composition/translation challenges to help keep your Latin sharp. The challenge is currently open to all. Small buy-ins and prizes may be a future consideration, but for now the competition is animi causa. If you are interested in participating, head on over to our blog to see the most recent prompt where you may also submit your composition.

Prompts will typically be posted each Wednesday in a blog post along with the announced winners from the previous week. Your translation/essay must be submitted no later than 12:00 p.m. central time on the Tuesday before in order to be considered as a candidate. n.b. these times are likely to change depending on the number of participants. At the moment, we only expect a handful.

Submissions will be assessed on their Latinity and their adherence to the prompt. Winners will claim the metaphorical palm, so to speak, but they may also merit a special mention on the Mellarium.
