Description

This course is for motivated teachers of Latin, new or veteran, who are worn down and disappointed by a lack of enthusiasm in the classroom, low enrollment, and a stressful teaching enviornment produced by monotonous and uninspired translations, prolix grammar explications, and recalcitrant students.

The course focuses on methods specific to incorporating spoken Latin into the classroom, but also touches upon general pedagogical techniques that help a language class stay focused but lively.

The course is not a magic wand. It will take a lot of work to implement correctly, but a motivated teacher who loves Latin and their students will find that by following the principles laid out, their jobs as teachers ultimately becomes easier as a result.
